Taking inventory of the things I avoid... like doing my own taxes

Happy #FailureFriday! So, Monday was Tax Day and I have to admit it: I didn’t do my taxes, Nihal did. Ok, actually it’s worse than that… it’s the year 2019, I’m 43 years old, and I’ve never done my own taxes. Before I met Nihal, my dad used to do them for me. I’m willing to bet I’m not alone here. Any other brilliant, independent women out there who turn into damsels in distress when it comes to personal finances? It’s like the voice in my 5th-grade head that told me I sucked at math is still there convincing me it’s too hard or I’ll just mess it up. But the reality is that doing hard things, things you’re not good at, or not comfortable with is actually a rush. If I can speak in front of crowds of people, I can do my own damn taxes… So here’s to taking inventory of those hard things we avoid, and next time making the decision to take them on head first. #bravenotperfect
