Getting Through It (ft. Karine Jean-Pierre)

Have you been putting off taking care of your mental health?

There was a time I wasn’t brave. When I was pushing down who I was meant to be. When I was trying to be the “perfect” daughter for my immigrant parents and fulfill their American dreams. Karine Jean-Pierre felt the same way growing up. She had to break free from the expectations placed on her from a young age to become the remarkable political analyst she is today. Karine helped President Obama get elected, is fighting hard for progressive change at MoveOn.org, and recently published her first book Moving Forward. Before becoming who she was meant to be though, Karine struggled with her mental health. On today’s episode of Brave, Not Perfect she opens up about that journey and how she got the support she needed to thrive.

Have you been putting off taking care of your mental health? I hope this episode helps you find the bravery to change that. I want you to prioritize your well being. I want you to seek support if you’re going through something hard. Being brave about your mental health is hard, but putting in that work is worth it. You deserve to thrive too.
